A fast-moving wildfire in the Hatwai drainage near U.S. Highway 95 has grown to approximately 80 acres with no containment as of Thursday afternoon, prompting the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office to issue a “Ready” evacuation notice for residents in the threatened area.
The Mile Marker 320 Fire, located near Lewiston Hill, has put roughly 15 structures at risk. No evacuation order has been issued, but residents in the designated “Ready” zone have been advised to prepare their departure plans immediately.
Evacuation Alert Area
The sheriff’s office defined the “Ready” notification area as U.S. Highway 95 between milepost 317 and Evans Road, extending east along Evans Road to Archibald Road, then returning to U.S. 95 at milepost 317. Residents in this zone should have evacuation supplies assembled, including medications, identification documents, and arrangements for pets and livestock.
