A Lapwai man has been charged with attempted grand theft in Nez Perce County District Court following an alleged motorcycle theft attempt in Lewiston late Friday night.
Robert M. Morrison Jr. was spotted by an officer shortly before midnight on Aug. 28 pushing a motorcycle near the intersection of G and Jefferson streets. The officer reported that Morrison, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dropped the motorcycle and fled on foot when approached.
Prosecutors allege the motorcycle was taken from a nearby Lewiston residence. The attempted grand theft charge has since been filed in district court.
