Lewiston to host Public Works Expo during National Public Works Week

Lewiston residents will have a chance to see city and regional infrastructure operations up close when the annual Public Works Expo comes to the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds on Thursday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The free community event marks National Public Works Week, observed May 17–23 through a partnership with the American Public Works Association. The expo is designed to give the public a firsthand look at the equipment, services, and professionals who keep local infrastructure running.

Several organizations are participating this year, including the City of Lewiston, Asotin County, the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District, Sunshine Disposal, Clearwater Composting, and Idaho Digline.

Admission is free and the event is open to all ages, making it a practical opportunity for families and community members to learn about the infrastructure systems that support daily life in the Lewis-Clark Valley. With road maintenance season now underway in Lewiston, the expo arrives at a timely moment for residents curious about the scope of public works operations in the area.

What Comes Next

The expo takes place Thursday, May 21, at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds. Residents interested in related infrastructure planning may also want to follow updates from the East Lewiston Transportation Open House, which explored future roadway priorities for the area. No registration is required for the Public Works Expo.
